Bear Hunting

The black bear is the most common and widespread bear in Canada. Black bears in Newfoundland tend to be larger due to a genetic predisposition and low hunting pressures. There are approximately 10,000 black bears on the island, some of which weighing as large as 650 pounds.

A bear tag can be purchased with any of the other hunts offered. Once a bear is harvested a trophy fee will apply. We see about 2-3 black bears per week, but normally only take 1 or 2 during the season.

All hunts are at the fly-in lodges with one-on-one guiding.
